Differences between the two articles “Fox News can’t toy with me like they toy with everyone else,’ Trump says” and “Kelly central to Trump-Fox feud”

Recently, Donald Trump announced that he wasn’t going to participate in the debate this Thursday. During the last debate, moderator Megyn Kelly asked him some difficult questions. One of the questions was about why he called women “fat pigs, dogs, slobs and disgusting animals.” Trump says that Kelly is a “third-rate reporter” that treated him unfairly, and was biased. In this blog post we’re going to discuss some of the differences and similarities between the two articles.

First up, their titles are different. The Washington Post’s article has a statement from Trump as their title, while the Los Angeles Times says that Kelly is central to the feud between Trump and Fox News.

The article in the Los Angeles Times starts with the story behind why this feud appeared. Meanwhile, in The Washington Post, you first read some quotes from Trump about how Fox News earns money off him: “Why should the networks continue to get rich on the debates?” […] “Why do I have to make Fox rich?”

The Los Angeles Times seem to tell the story more from Fox News’ perspective, while The Washington Post seem to be a bit more neutral and includes many statements from both sides. But if you read through both articles, you’ll find that many of the quotes and statements are very similar. The Washington Post also has a slightly longer article.

We think that a president candidate should be able to deal with questions from the moderator, no matter how difficult they are. This kind of behavior should be unacceptable from someone who wants to become the president of a country.
